Francis  I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but just in case anyone is not clear on this point, Roman Catholicism is a false religion. They teach a gospel by works contrary to clear Bible teaching (Romans 6:23, Eph 2:8-9). Ian Paisley rightly called the pope an antichrist. I believe God reserves his harshest punishment for false teachers and false teacher is what the pope is (2 Peter 2). Galatians 1:8 teaches that God's curse falls on those who teach a false gospel. Roman Catholic doctrine has its own curse. Here is a quote from the Council of Trent reaffirmed by Vatican II ..."If anyone shall say that justifying faith is nothing else than confidence in the divine mercy pardoning sins for Christ's sake, or that it is that confidence alone by which we are justified, let him be accursed." I don't believe that Dr Graham was just a disobedient brother. I don't believe he was a brother at all. The Bible teaches us that spiritual fruit exposes the true nature of the plant Matthew 7:16-20. Fruit never comes at the beginning of the growing cycle it always comes at the end. It's easy to judge Dr Graham by his early ministry rather than the end but this is a big mistake. Only God knows for sure but I believe Dr Graham was a modern-day Judas. Graham  John 6:70, 1 John 2:19. How grateful we are for those who were genuinely converted under his ministry but that is to the praise of God's glorious grace not man's innovation and compromise. God's work is the saving. Ours is the obeying. I believe that when Dr Pettit praised the late Dr Graham, he did not endorse a disobedient brother but rather an apostate.
